Summers Kalishman is an associate professor emerita of family and community medicine at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. She received her PhD in 1997 from the UNM College of Education. She has developed and implemented curriculum and evaluation for AHRQ, HRSA, and NIH federally supported grants for pipeline, interprofessional training programs, and Project ECHO related organizational change and transformation initiatives. In addition, a component of her work has been focused on program and course evaluation for the medical school. Her work in education has focused on self-efficacy, iterative practice, development of expertise, faculty development, self-efficacy and includes multiple methods--survey, focus groups, interviews, observations and use of secondary sources of data.
