World Health Organization (WHO)

The World Health Organization (WHO) is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system. It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.


Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS)

The Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) is a set of large-scale surveys of families and individuals, their medical providers and employers across the United States. MEPS is the most complete source of data on the cost and use of health care and health insurance coverage.


Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

The mission of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is to collaborate to create the expertise, information, and tools that people and communities need to protect their health – through health promotion, prevention of disease, injury and disability, and preparedness for new health threats.


Department of Health (DOH)

The mission of the Department of Health (DOH) is to promote health and sound health policy, prevent disease and disability, improve health services systems, and assure that essential public health functions and safety net services are available to all New Mexicans.



REDCap is an acronym for Research Electronic Data Capture. It provides convenient, secure, web-based data collection tools designed for investigators, including data entry forms and web surveying. It is secure, HIPPA compliant and available for the use of all HSC faculty, staff, and sponsored students.
